Do You Need a Very High Fidelity Stage Piano ?

Do you need a very high fidelity Stage Piano for your compositions or for your improvisations ?

Whether you need a very high quality work horse Grand Stage Piano for production or you just want a high fidelity Stage Piano to play on your pad controller or keys, this is the instrument that's made for you.

There's a huge lack of high quality multi sample instruments. Pianos in particular are notoriously difficult to make !

After hours on hours of recording and processing - the results are truly stunning and I can finally enjoy my hours of playing on the pads with high quality piano sounds. Undoubtedly, this instrument is miles away and superior to the piano instruments provided by Akai. I also think it sounds better than a lot of software instruments, from the likes of Arturia and Native Instruments. And obviously, there's a pretty huge price difference.

I hope everyone picks this up. I decided to make my unique high fidelity keygroup instruments available to all artists and musicians. Maybe i'll have the pleasure of seeing someone perform these instruments live one day. For that alone it is worth it to make it available to a serious audience. Hopefully what brings us together is a love for the piano sound.

Dont want the full version of this instrument ? Too heavy for your controller or computer ?

For a 'Lite' version with only 2 samples per key see the other instruments available in my shop.

What You Get

This is the Complete Version of the Grand Stage Piano I Nine 'S' & Grand Stage Piano Ten 'S'

The Grand Stage Piano was recorded in a recording studio's scoring stage to give it more "room". This is the 'wet' version. I use this one the most - I hope you will like it too !

The Grand Stage Piano was recorded in a recording studio's dedicated piano recording room. This is the 'dry' version. I use this one when I want to control the filters myself.

The Ten 'S' is an alternative Grand Stage Piano recorded with different microphones than on the 9s to specifically design a high fidelity instrument as a keygroup instrument. It was recorded in the studio for the dry and on the scoring stage for the wet.

The Nine 'S' Grand Stage Piano is a unique instrument designed to sound as close to a piano as possible as a 4 layer key group instrument. This product contains two versions of the original Nine 'S' sounds, Dry and with "reverb".

First of all, each note sounds completely different if you strike it soft or hard. Both these multisampled instruments have four note intensities recorded (many times) for each note individually. That's because each note on a piano will affect neighboring notes by making them vibrate.

  • 88 individually sampled notes times four samples of 9 seconds of recording each , plus processing that's 388 retained samples for thousands of (attempted) recorded samples per instrument.
  • This Package Contains Four Instruments (Ten 'S' and Nine 'S' , Wet and Dry, each).

All keygroup instruments are sold as is. However I am expecting to release an update in August with individually adjusted pitch envelopes for each sample (they didnt process when I produced the keygroup) $2 minimum price to keep away the pirates and the unthankful. I currently recommend an $8 donation which is the future price of the instrument I'll set, if there are more than a few people that decide to acquire it. These Instruments contains 388 samples and the corresponding *.xpm (X Pixmap) files for a total of 1556 files , 1552 High Fidelity .Wav files for a total of 3.1 GB uncompressed from the *.zip file for two instruments. For 20% off use code readme at checkout. In general , I do not have the capacity to deal with paperwork, refunds, or technical inquiries.

However, I'll try to answer as many questions as possible by email, reddit and facebook. For Akai Force-related questions ask on facebook : https://www.facebook.com/groups/2258970104361753 for any other questions, kindly direct them towards the appropriate forums. You have a licence to own and to use , not to reproduce or to sell. Thank you for your custom.

Configuration Instructions

Nothing is more simple than getting started with the Grand Stage Piano Nine 'S' .

  1. Unzip / uncompress the .zip file into your music folder. For standalone controllers be sure to add it to your external hard drive or usb drive.
  2. Open an empty project in your DAW or standalone controler
  3. Navigate to your uncompressed folder and drag and drop the .xpm file directly into your DAW or open/load the .xpm file to load it into your track.
  4. It's ready to play !

For more advanced Users :

  • Navigate to your keygroup instrument interface
  • Increase "decay" and tune "sustain" to taste.

How To Play

This instrument is particularly well suited for the Akai Family controllers but it will work with any controller and DAW. To use it unzip the file into your mutlisampled instruments folder. Open the .xpm in your DAW or on your standalone controller. To play this instrument I do recommend using a sustain pedal.

For example in my set up on the Akai Force, I plug in my Arturia Keystep using USB, open an empty project, then load the *.xpm directly. Plugged into the Arturia is a sustain pedal. on the I/O page of the mixer i select Midi In from Arturia KeyStep with setting 'MERGE'. Then, I alternate between light and hard presses on the pedal as I play the pads.

Other ways you can use this pack include taking and individual note and creating a keygroup instrument with it, for example G6 (shift+edit). Remember : each layer sounds completely different so select the one you might like the most if you do this.

You might also want to remove samples to save space, for example Layer 4.
